Why Can’t I Remove a Chat Room as a General Member?
If you are a general member of a Team App, you will notice that you cannot remove or delete chat rooms. This is expected behaviour based on user permissions.
Who Can Remove or Delete Chat Rooms?
Only the following users have the ability to remove or delete chat rooms:
Admins of the Team App
The creator of the chat room
General members do not have permission to delete chats, even if they are participants in the chat room.
What Can General Members Do?
While you cannot delete chat rooms, you can manage your notifications:
General Members Can:
Mute chat rooms
Leave private chat groups (if applicable)
Manage notifications for individual chats
General Members Cannot:
Remove/delete chat rooms
Edit chat settings
Remove other users
Why Is This Restricted?
Chat rooms contain important team communication. Deleting them is restricted to avoid:
Loss of important messages
Accidental deletion
Members removing chats that other participants still need
